Medieval Village of Monschau Germany
We have been having a terrific time dashing around Germany. Our daughter has been kind enough to drive us to places and visit incredible sights. Gawkin' at Aachen Two
... and charming. The next big attraction we visited was the Aachen Town Hall. Charlemagne started building this favourite palace in 789, and, after his coronation in Rome in 800, it became his permanent seat of residence. He made Aachen, for a time the most influential center of culture in Europe. Scholars from all over Europe gathered here. I doubt I would have been invited.
