... they had when we last met) who we hadn’t seen for a couple of years when we were all gale bound in Ermoupolis on the island of Syros. Naturally we invited them across for a drink. Just prior to them appearing ‘Caladh’ slid into the berth next door to us with Richard and June having just finished their cruising season who, likewise, hadn’t met up with Steve, Anna and family for some time. As a result a memorable get together ensued.

Downtown Bodrum, Turkey

The small bus, called a Dolmus bus picked me up in front of the hotel. People were cramped into the bus with only 11 seats - many were standing crookedly towards the back. Was that a rooster?? Yes, there was a rooster in a cage on the bus! The bus sped off - the driver only had his foot on the accelerator, honking instead of breaking. Phew, I survived the trip to downtown Bodrum. Fun and interesting ride.

The streets were narrow with lots of small ...

The McDonalds on Kos was rumored to be open, we were very excited. Turns out it was actually closed, so we had to settle for Breakfast from a pastry shop. Matt had already bought his ferry ticket to Bodrum online for 30 euros. Evan, Kelly, Sarah, and Brittany walked around the port looking for ferries and found boat that was willing to take us to Bodrum for 15 euros ...

He really knows his job very well!!
He loves his work, and I watch him how he communicates with his customers.

I believe I have to mention him in this entry because I need to remember him and because I recommend this restaurant for any members of TPod who will spend time in Kos.

Tourists keep coming back to him again and again. He is known by most tourists who come to the Island for a second or ...

... vacate the ship by 4:30. The Blue Star Ferry had unfortunately arrived at the port on time. Some of the miscellaneous highlights from Kos (and Greece in general) include: · Irini, the 60 year old "Rooms to Let" owner, who was waiting on her motorcycle at the port at 4:30 AM to help weary travelers like us. She gave us a good price (despite being able to clearly see our children) and agreed to let us check in immediately (without paying for the ...
