      Martine drove us through the Pyrenées into Spain, this morning. We explored San Sebastián and then had tapas for lunch. It was fun to try out our Spanish. We found a great ice cream shop and also bought some souvenirs. From there, we went back into France and spent some time in Saint Jean de Luz.       ... to fit all of our stuff into him. Either my packing is getting worse or we have all managed to sneak in some more shopping along our travels. We certainly appreciated the only 1 hr travel time this change over which equates to about 8 stink bombs from Jesse's ever more toxic derrière. There must be some really interesting gear in the lasagne's over here. Next changeover is a 5+ hour drive to Barcelona, that doesn't even bear thinking about.

      ... with a long lack flowing jacket, and the beautiful mabe pearl that Ty gave me a couple of years ago. We looked great -- darn, another photographic opportunity missed, Jacques had three course meal, with the main entree being beautifully prepared dover sole. Marina and I shared an incredible whole duck dinner l'orange. Another wonderful bottle of Pommerol. As if that was not enough, they brought us dessert.       ... went to a restaurant and had paella .and mum and dad had drinks for Karla Brunei . Then at 9:00 we heard canon balls fly past the sky . Cheater chat chat we heard all this noise from the beach and they were having fireworks and at 11:00 they started . They probAbly put the fireworks on for Karla Brunei for his big win .       ... to publish them all here so that we come back with stories to tell! We were very excited and felt lucky to be able to see the massive 'botafumero' swinging in action in the cathedral. It is not done every day but word on the street is that if someone slips the church 300 euros (or more) they happily pull it out, light it up, and give it a swing!
