It was a wrench to leave after four days but we felt the calling and oysters as the Baisson D'Arcachon was our next stop.Famous as the home of young oysters in France, about 60% of all oysters start their life here in its shallow & sandy beds, revealed each day to the air as the tide empties out completely for miles. The first night we enjoyed a dinner on the beach and I ordered a salmon with rice and veggies. It was delicious and since I am starting to eat super healthy it followed my food guidelines. The hour and a half lesson went by so quickly. We practiced again in the afternoon with rented equipment and by the end of the day we both had gained some confidence and a huge interest in exploring surfing as a new pastime. We hope this visit to Biarritz won't be our last. We would love to return and attend one of the schools' longer, more intensive surf camps.
