With a dress rehearsal from 5:30 to 8:00, it was a bit late and she was a little tired, but we went for a walk down by the lake to an area where there are a couple of German restaurants. The one we went to was quite nice, and one that she hadn't been to before, the waitresses were dressed up in a traditional outfit and the ambience of the place was very warm - not all that surprising really as according to the write-up in the menu ...

Hohenstein-Ernstthal, Saxony, Germany magicwoman82... would be council flats in the UK. They are right on the border of town and countryside here in Germany though. Compared to the UK, where they would be in the inner city. Some of the older buildings here are timber-framed with diagonal spars, typical of timber-framed buildings. We are passing a lot of these brick chimneys now as we pass through Chemnitz, and one in the far distance is operational, belching out a plume that wavers up and ...
glauchau, Germany jeremyhill... people we met in 2002, yet another great family intent of killing us with food and drink, especially this green schnapps that Manfred (the father) drank. It's like Jägermeister but even more medicinal, in one sitting we drank a whole bottle together, that'll teach me for allowing my shot glass to hit the table to be re-filled. Got to hear some stories about the days under Soviet rule, the most facsinating was when the two Germanies became one and how people were ...
Gelenau, Saxony, Germany ashlmcHilly and I hit the road about 11:00am after meeting with her last patient. It started off as any regular road trip. I'll let everyone know what kind of car we were driving later on but first I will mention I had no idea the German's dorve so freakin fast. Hilly had a hard time getting up to top speeds but when the car finally reached 170 km per hour I knew we were making good time. The funny thing was that most cars were passing us. They had to ...
Zwickau, Saxony, Germany mike81In my white lab coat.............. It was really interesting to examine and take apart people and learn about the functions of the human body. I didn't care for the smell too much, it started to get too much after 30 minutes, but it was a cool experience.
Freiberg, Germany johanna85Well Queen's Day in Amsterdam did live up to the hype, amazing with all the people and orange and the Dutch bands I hadn't heard of! It really was crazy. We then had 3 days in Amsterdam staying at a friend's cousins place while they were away. Really good to chill out and relax for a short time, before back on the road again last Saturday. Stayed in Cologne one night, hostel was awesome, I had this 60y/old gross man in my room, who lay in the bed the whole ...
Freiberg, Saxony, Germany susbPäevakokkuvõte. Hommikul ärkasime Freibergi linnas asuvas hostelis. Sõime samas ka hommikusöögi. Ingo Valgma, Tauno Tammeoja, Martin Lohk, Veiko Karu ja Christian Buhrow ööbisid professor Buhrow'i juures. Pärast hommikusööki läksime kõik koos Himmelfahrt Fundgrube hõbedakaevandusse, milles kaevandamine on lõpetatud. Hetkel kasutab kaevandust Freiberg'i Mäeakadeemia õppe ja arendustöö eesmärgil. Kaevanduses käidud, oli lõuna juba käes ja ...
Freiberg, Saxony, Germany veikokWe went through Germany to see where Bryan used to live and to visit one of his favorite breweries. We had dinner at the Gasthaus - traditional schnitzel and spetzel. Great beer and wonderful hospitality. Bryan had to get a rack of beer to take back with us, of course.
