... a state of disrepair after neglect through the communist years and after a couple of fires, as well as providing insight into how it has become the site for one of the most popular volunteer opportunities in Europe. We then did four hours work which mainly consisted of throwing bricks and rocks down a hill to a road, clearing space so that they could begin to build an access road to another side of the castle.
