... Portugal, Lagos was the recommendation of our Souvenir shop man in Coimbra. First stop was Maccas to use the free wi-fi, and post the latest blog edition. Then it was downtown for a familiarisation drive through. The water here is quite incredible. Blue,.. Blue,.. Blue,.. and beaches of golden sand. We found a municipal campsite just a kilometre out of the centre of the Old Town, a walled city ,.. checked in,.. settled in,.. and broke out the bikes. Sadly the wind has ...

I first became aware of Semana Santa in Seville when I was about ten and attended the slide show of a woman who had just returned from a year studying in Spain at a church potluck supper. We awoke to a fairly warm and humid day today. After breakfast, the first stop was the local laundromat to wash some clothes. Visiting Spain in summer is fairly hot and sweaty work, and it was good to have fresh clean clothes. As we had booked a tour around Seville for later in the afternoon we had a bit of time to kill, so headed off down a narrow lane opposite our hotel towards the Alcazar. Our hotel is located in the Santa Cruz area of Seville, which is the ...

... of this delicate work of art!! Off we stomp again. This time making for the magnificent Seville Cathedral and La Giralda. The worlds 3rd largest and only a tad smaller than St Peters and St Pauls. The Bell Tower is a "puffing" 38 slope climb but provides superb panoramic views over the city. Yes slopes....no steps so that horses can ride up to the Belfy. Again we collapse at 15:30 and head for our room...... FLAMECO!! At around 1930 hrs we stoll out ...
