This was the fruit and veg lady with her truck who on seeing us stopped beside our caravan, dropped the side to reveal crates of produce, from which we chose grapes, figs and a bag of cookies (not fruit or veg, I know, but David likes something with his morning coffee). Later in the day a van comes which roasts chicken with Piri-Piri seasoning. You simply ...

On Thursday morning we were on the road northwards shortly after 8.30am - earlier than planned. Due to the steep driveway out of the Camping Pelinos 77, we had taken Remy up on his offer of a tow out but he had overlooked that he had a hospital appointment later in the day, and was knocking on the door at 7.30am to apologise, so it would need to be sooner rather than later. It was during the dynastic crisis of 1383-1385 that Beatriz the only daughter of Fenando ...

Woke at 6:45 a.m. still docked at isolated concrete dock in Pocinho just feet from the last lock on the Portuguese side of the Douro River. You can see the Spanish dock in Barca d’Alva that is less than 200 yards away. I would presume the strange overnight stop has something to do with docking fees or permits to enter different countries.

Today lunch included a delicious ...
