Fell in behind the group for the last bit of the climb, oh it's nice drafting in a large pack. Once the downhill started, having to use my brakes a bit to much behind folks, saw some clear rode in a windy section, cut the corner to the guard rail on a left hander and was gone off the front like a rocket ... It was great to see a group of local residents using one of the cloisters to rehearse a play. Leaving the village of about 800 people our GPS tried to take us further up the hill on what looked like a local goat track so we declined and retraced our route back to Lamego and on to Porto.

... prepaid the gas. Of course we didn not and should have, so we were off to the “Jumbo Gas”. Now we just needed to figure out how to buy gas. Gee, it’s 1.39 Euros per liter and the pump only takes credit cards with a Pin. No such luck with US cards although ours has a chip! Moved over to another pump but the nozzle wouldn’t fit. Oh, the 1.59 Euro per liter nozzle works and a half tank only cost 50 Euros!!! That’s $70 to drive ...
