    ... years (part from a period of time during the Spanish Civil War when the bridge was badly damaged). It costs 1€35 for a car to cross and .35cents for a foot passenger!! We got the elevator to the top and walked over the top to the other side for 7€.

    Further on, in the Altamira Cave Museum we learnt about prehistoric some art dating as far back as 35,000BC. Dali was reported to have said that any art from that period onwards was decadent. ...

    Here eating is a way of life. There are restaurants and cafes everywhere. It makes you wonder how that many can survive. Businesses open from 10-12. Lunch goes from 12 - 2 and then the shops reopen and go from 4 - 10pm. Hard to get used to. They start dinner about 9pm even the kids about 1-3.

    We found a funicular in the alps (50km away) up to a local monastery and small bckwoods villag and saw the back end ...

    ... light even with a full tank. I think maybe she just didn't like the French. My search for dinosaur footprints (yes, Spain has dinosaurs!!) led us next to a quaint surfer's village called Vega. The map I'd picked up in Ribadesella guaranteed Jurassic markings here but I couldn't find them and so satisfied myself with making a tiny motorbike statue out of beach rocks instead.
