    ... was essentially a Westerner trapped in an Indian body and world - her articles often cause a large back lash as she regular speaks of women's rights and being more accepting of various view points.
    We stopped for a Chai at the furtherest point of our route before making our way back to our starting point along a different set of waterways.

    ... we had a traditional Keralan breakfast (a mild potato curry with a spongy pancake-like bread), plus some toast, jam, tea, juice, bananas and an omelette. Had another day mostly in front of the box, but we did have a short walk around Alleppey, and arranged a tour of the backwaters on a small boat, for the following day, and our onward train ticket to Kollam.     ... a seat thank goodness) but we've paid 172 rupees (£2.06) for the 2of us in instead of 3000 (£35.87) that it would have cost by taxi. This is travelling at its finest!     ... down by cruising down the backwaters on the roof of the boats with the wind in our faces. It was very interesting seeing all the local houses and the wildlife; we even saw a Catholic church. The other walk was in the evening, which was much cooler. We walked around rice fields and farms for around two hours, with our guide telling us all about the local way of life, before getting a canoe back to our home stay. On ...
