    ... they are famous for their coffee, and of course there is the seafood. In Fort Cochin I had the best fish curry known to man. And, incidentally, the best chocolate cake. Yum.

    We made it to Alleppey, I survived the train once more, though didn't sleep that well. We arrived around 3:30, took an amazingly refreshing, and much needed shower, and had a brief nap. By 5PM we were out wandering he streets of Alleppey, which is now called Alappuzha, in the state of Kerala. It is HOT here, and although I kind of want a thunderstorm to break this humidity, the forecast is not looking good for our overnight houseboat in the backwater canals of Kerala. ...

    ... to our waiting coaches (which were air conditioned) and started out again. Now two of the people on our bus had not seen the Chinese fishing nets yesterday like the rest of us. But they insisted on stopping to see them so off we go to the Chinese fishing nets. It was 5 o'clock before we returned to the ship, hot, tired and determined if we ever heard about Chinese fishing nets again……well.
