Well, it's only taken me a week, but I've finally found the time and energy to sit down and write a bit about our stay in Belgium so far....It's been a bit of a whirl wind with no signs of slowing down for at least another week; but with only the weekends and evenings to explore Gent and other areas of Europe, we're taking every chance we get to experience the true European lifestyle.

... government buildings and squares filled with restaurants and bars. We visited some fantastic chocolate shops, and tried many flavours such as violet crèmes which were amazing. Bruges also had some great retail shops as well which the girls loved. We headed out on a pub crawl that night, where we met some travellers from New Zealand, Canada, America and Hong Kong.
