We sat at a pub whilst Mark consumed a trappist beer and realised from our little guidebook that the abbey of St. Sixtus (where monks make Westvleteren trappist beer) is only an hours drive from Gent! Of course we decided to visit the abbey tomorrow!
Even though I don't drink beer I am keen to see this abbey and the elusive monks who make it so difficult to get their beer.
