    Great stay in Nice

Our stay in Nice was short but comfortable at the Hotel Le Royal. The rooms were small, but clean and quiet, so we had great sleeps to adjust to France time from our long arduous flight. Great location right on the main drag across from the fantastic Nice beach.

... get back down, and we were all glad to be in a large group! We
seemed to get down a lot more quickly than we got up! We then headed back along
the beach into town. Paul, Amanda, Steve and I wandered around in the city for
a bit before heading back to the hotel.

... products. We walked through the narrow streets. We were then, once again, left to ourselves and we wandered through the flower markets - just a mass of colour. Time to head back to the ship for the last time and finish packing. Somehow our bags are heavier than when we started. We have to leave our bags outside our cabin tonight and, hopefully, they end up with us when our car picks us up to go to the railway station. A few goodbyes on the ship and it is time for dinner, which we ...

... us decided to go through the Christmas markets and light displays scattered around the heart of town. At 9pm, when the markets started to close, we headed back to our hotel for a great nights sleep before an early start. We awoke early in order to get everything we wanted to do in Nice done before we had to be ready at the hotel for our trip to a French Perfumery and the glamorous Monaco. First up Rochelle, Caitlin, Sandy and us walked ...

... evening rush hour, but we get there safely so all is well. We prepaid for the room, so check-in is easy. The hotel is plain, but clean and nice. Our room is the same, plain, but it has everything we need including free wi-fi. There's a shower plus a tub/shower combo in the bathroom and a separate wc. There is even a day bed to separate us from the snoring. Not bad for 129 Euros.

... seemed to wind around forever going nowhere. It became increasingly clear that the July grand reopening of the museum had not yet happened, but the Grimaldi castle and museum, which was the next stop, no longer housed the Renoir collection either as just that weekend it was being transported back to the renovated original location!

Bottom line, one of the key reasons for our visit to Nice was not even open! Nevertheless, the old part of Cagnes Sur Mer was ...
