    Great stay in Nice

Our stay in Nice was short but comfortable at the Hotel Le Royal. The rooms were small, but clean and quiet, so we had great sleeps to adjust to France time from our long arduous flight. Great location right on the main drag across from the fantastic Nice beach.

years. As you walk through the streets every other shop is a gallery.
As you walk through the Rue Grande it is like going back in time. I had
started reading the book Crispin and I felt like I was walking in the
16th century town described in the book (although that was in England.)
At the end of the street you can look out over the ...

Virginie had offered an optional lunch in Les Baux, which 12 of us took her up on. We ate outside at La Reine Jeanne and had cod with aioli, a boiled potato, and multiple vegetables (I ate my beans and carrots). It was very good, particularly the aioli, and very filling.

As the night goes on I distinctly remember Victoria making her way over, I remember holding her hair up (it was stinking hot inside this place now) to which she found hilarious and thanked me. It gets too hot so I go outside, down to the beach. I end up going for a swim with Wasp. Wearing bright pink undies is not only fashionable but serves as a great beacon for life gaurds should you decide a drunken swim is ...

Cannes seen and done, we headed back to the station to catch the train home, our second day living like the wealthy over as we wandered back to the campground.

With the alarm this morning ringing in our ears for our earliest start yet, we made our way down to the station to head to Nice to catch the Pine Cone train, (named because it use to run off pine cones) which takes the inland route towards Digne and through small picturesque medieval villages. ...

We were all in need of a bit of a chill out day. Though it doesn't feel like we've been racing around madly, we have been pretty busy. The main goal for the day was to get the train tickets sorted for Cinque Terre. We wandered down the hill and the girls and I checked out the local market while Dean went to the station. No luck there as either it was unattended on Saturday or the person was on a break. Lucky we had committed the whole day to get ...
