    Great stay in Nice

Our stay in Nice was short but comfortable at the Hotel Le Royal. The rooms were small, but clean and quiet, so we had great sleeps to adjust to France time from our long arduous flight. Great location right on the main drag across from the fantastic Nice beach.

... which looked amazing. Our platter came outand it was so underwhelming :( it had 2 big prawns each, half a lobster each and some crab for 120e. So sad. It was one of the most expensive meals we had as well. We were still hungry so we went to a different place to have a cocktail and some dessert but when the waiter realized we weren't having dinner he said it was impossible and we had to go. We ended up getting gelato and a takeaway pizza which wasn't too ...

... as it was 4pm. So from here we walked home along the promenade and down onto the beach. Oh my goodness!!! It was just mid sized rounded stones; very hard to walk along. We can't imagine sitting there for long or lying on it or swimming/wading on them, but people were. Crazy!!! Stopped at the supermarket to buy supplies for dinner of brie, ham & juice & then a baguette at the boulangerie and made it home by 5:30 in slight rain. Again we have walked over 11 kms today.
