    ... the cut! =) We of course, graciously accepted her offering. It felt like getting a medal for being "most liked". =)

    Instead of some of the recommended routes, we decided to take the routes that would take us longer along the water. I would say that during the whole cycle tour a good 80% of it was within a view of some kind of canal, sea, lake or river, and if we could help it, this day would be no different.

    ... a full flavour of the town. Sitting in the boat gives a clear view of how the buildings seemingly disappear into the water which our pilot told us was about 500mm deep at the edges and about 2 metres in the middle. Gliding effortlessly under the numerous stone bridges that all date back to the medieval age and admiring the soaring spires, historic buildings so beautifully restored and cobblestone lanes....heaven!

    ... of time and got to Paris safely, where Oliver, my friend from high school, met me to show me the sights of Paris. I didn't think I was going to enjoy Paris (from what people had told me) and that was immediately justified when inside the train station I was stopped by a British guy who had his valuables stolen (including passport) so was asking for money in order to tide him over until the next day where he can get back to the UK.     ... a bit. With just the slightest pressure, the horses took off. Now, I know how to ride a horse, but that was certainly unexpected! Almost at the same time, Sarah and I both half fell off the horses and were trying to keep up with their trot with one leg still on the horse and one on the ground.     ... balloon, you can only guide it...and what looks serene up in the air is pretty fast when you are heading to earth and you've been told the ONLY way to stop and get out is for the basket to drag on the ground and hope that it will only tip sideways and not upside-down...so it did only tip sideways - IN HOLLAND! we literally landed in holland...aahhhaaaa
