Today we went to Praia A Mare. It's roughly a 2 hour drive from Fagnano Castello up the coast.
We hire beach umbrellas and beach chairs till early afternoon and relax and swim in the beautiful ocean. Praia A Mare also has a blue grotto where you can either take a tour for €5 per person or hire paddle boats like we did for €12 per person and oddly yourself there and jump in for a swim.

... lunch at a cafe on the beach and trying to regain our energy to find our hotel, it was wonderful....took us straight there without an extra step. So thanks! As for today's hike....it was so beautiful but so so hot. Views of a magnificent coastline only got better the higher we climbed. View the other side of mountain scenery. The coach had to park outside the town and we walked in. Antonia asked if any of us wanted to go on a speed boat trip around the island so we put up our hands for that. Was a great experience and we saw the Roman ruins and the castle from the sea. He took us along the moat at the end and under the drawbridge ...

... remnant from Dave's death, some kind of physical reminder - a sick joke of the Nature Gods. I know that I don't feel quite as 'female' now though. I feel a bit old and haggard. A bit bitter. A bit like a witch. I can't flirt as well anymore as I once could. Often I don't care to flirt, either. I can dress up, but still see crows-feet around my eyes. I had to stop reading 'persuasion' by Austen because when they said Anne had 'lost her bloom', I felt it was some old relative ...

... are several ornate chandeliers in the palace which are made from Murano glass. Each of these chandeliers takes one man an entire day to clean. Romeo leads us into the concert room where he has the group sing God Bless America to see how good the acoustics in the room are. I have to say we did sound pretty good. Romeo shows us a beautiful table with a vase of flowers all done in marble inlays. Absolutely gorgeous and took over 10 ...
