Our Dutch friends were off and away by 08:00. They'd decided that it was better to motor to Fehmarn today rather than risk strong contra-winds which are forecast for the next few days ie the wind will henceforth blow from the east, our primary direction of sailing. That is in the future though, today there was almost no wind forecast but we only had 10 miles to travel, back on ourselves for a few miles then turning right, to find another buoyed channel down to Marstal.
Picked up Europcar, 15 minutes walk from hotel, and drove to Roskilde. Degree of difficulty? ... to assess whether your boat will fit between two upright posts and indeed, later that day we watched a large old motor yacht getting it wrong ie he wouldn’t quite fit. However, the next berth must have had an additional few inches as he was able to squeeze in there. Quite why they don’t put signs up with the width between the poles I’ve no idea.
This is literally the first day that I can recall this trip that we had absolute calm at lunch ...
