... festivals, with the 3 day Autumn Festival starting on the day we arrived. We went into the city centre for dinner on Saturday and the place was heaving with bands playing, people eating out everywhere, pop up bars and restaurants all through the main plaza's etc. The boys loved it, but not as much as the girls who had another late night out ending up in a dodgy nite club called Choco-Late. Pottered about the little town of Pella near to where we are staying. Sat on wooden bench on quayside scoffing a gelato each like oldies do apparently. Delightful. Forgot to mention dinner last night which was in a waterfront restaurant in Pella, a walk downhill of about 1.5 ...

... you nuts but at least tolls are fairly cheap in Italy. Worth it though for this place. Arrived early and so spent a while in the town of Orta on the east side of the lake, very beautiful indeed and full of Americans with their name tags around their necks, good idea really - see pics. Got strange attack of paranoia after parking car and became convinced that a rather shifty bloke ...

... of the Borromeo family (his surname is Borromeo). Interesting story.
For such a small Island Isola Pescatori has soooo many restaurants, cafes, gelatarias etc…

The Villa and gardens are stunning and there were 3 completely white peacocks roaming free here. Unfortunately no show of splayed feathers today – despite my efforts.

    When we got back ...
