      ... take you anywhere you want. But you don't feel the distances and see nothing. Therefore, the many over-land routes had its own special charm, especially the long ones. The fun factor is simply much greater if one travels through a landscape rather than sitting in a metal sausage flying over it (we Germans compare everything with sausages, you know ;-)

      Having said that, our longest over-land route took us for 5528 km from Peru's capital of Lima through the south of Peru ...
