Another great breakfast- cereal, home made croissant and toast with meat and cheese. Plus boiled eggs and sweet stuff that I didn't eat. Good unsweetened yoghurt. Still raining.. Was going to head to Cinque Terre but it's raining there too so decided to stop on way at Genoa. Wasn't on my list but looks like it might be interesting and more to do in the wet. Visiting the Piedmont region was a first for us. Fall was definitely in the air, and very few grapes were still hanging on the ubiquitous vines. The vines were beautiful colors of green, yellow, orange and red, depending on their location and the type of grape produced.

Norbert and I went our separate ways - the same way, really - in the afternoon. He was returning to his sleeping out arrangement and I needed to find myself a bed for the night. I really enjoyed the companionship of the previous few days, but it also felt natural to strike out again on my own. We've swapped contact details, so I expect we'll swap news of our VF outcomes in the fullness of time.
