... We can even smell the new train smell. There is a Gran Class carriage so needless to say we all (minus two) trooped in to have a look and a sit down. ... where the Lawson's line was about 50. Back at the train station we were herded into various gates based on what train you had tickets for. We made the next to last train of the night......got home at 0330hrs Sunday. LONG day! But a good experience :)

Not so much English spoken here but have managed OK to get feed and watered. In fact the food I have had the last couple of days has been superb.
Also in Sapporo I had some really nice curry soups ( with a chicken leg and veges ) I will have to learn how to make that.

... the school is called Aeon Mall and it's about a ten minute bus ride away. I think Boulder has spoiled me because the bus pass gets you on any bus. Here the bus comes every hour and a half and you have to pay a fare each way. There are rice fields near the campus and the woods surround one side of the school. ... by a drizzly walk to the station to catch our shinkansen up to Akita. To my horror, I manage to pour half the contents of my water bottle over the old lady sitting next to me who spends the next 3 hours looking as though I mortally insulted her family. Another great leap in Japanese-Gaijin relations!
