... 5 times the pace of the old train! I then took the 2 hour bullet train to Nagoya from Tokyo. Unfortunately I was now about 1 hour 30 mins later than I'd planned but it could have been a lot worse! Although stressful at the time I always think these sort of situations are good when travelling as they test your ability to make on the spot decisions. I headed towards Nagoya castle, having negotiated the underground ...

Sat next to a guy on the ltd express to Nagoya and he noticed how wet I was and asked "Suzuka"? We laughed a little and tried to have a conversation. Made it to the track and wandered about looking at the souvenir stands, same old stuff as you get at Melbourne. Redbull stand 4 deep in a queue, catherham: empty. First poor food experience since coming to japan.... I hope that's not because I'm fending for myself, as Amanda is back in Kyoto watching on the iPad, .... Doesn't bode well for the next two weeks when I'll be on my own. Just watched the drivers parade. And I have a perfect spot at the ...

We were to meet at the train station at 9.15am. Joseph had already left after breakfast to take more photos there. I left the room just before 9am but it took the lift over 7 minutes to come. This is the downside of this hotel. Christoph and Assumpta were in the lift and we walked to the station together. We were the last to arrive even though it was spot on 9.15am.

We caught the train to Iseshi and transferred to another train to Toba ...
