... across a batting cage. It was out of place for the area. We both gave it a whirl. 25 balls for 300 yen. I went twice and tired myself out. It was pretty fun. I did laundry once I got back to K's. While I was waiting I chatted with a Thai girl named Pang. I wanted to go to the onsen in the hotel nearby before it closed at 12:00 am. There were 53 inspection facilities on major roads across the nation to defend Edo, now ...

... remotely looks like pink moss. It's kind of a remote area and we continue the road hoping we will all of a sudden see pink moss but we don't. Without a map (we had asked for a map at the rental car company but these days with English speaking GPS maps must have become obsolete) we have to rely completely on the GPS and for a while we have no idea where we are. We stop at a rest area that has a restaurant and some shops and get a better idea ...

... accompanied by a seismic boom, kind of like a thunder clap. With all the volcanic and seismic activity in the Hakone area that comes as no surprise. Between 4-7 PM they serve free champagne in the lounge of the hotel, there are quite a few guests taking the hotel up on their offer. Dinner at the hotel, we enjoy a nice dinner in their French Restaurant. In the tatami room a comfy futon is made up for Juliet, we all enjoy a good night ...
