The Chinese meal was fine although presented in a Japanese way with the fried rice coming last so we couldn't eat the sauce covered vegetables and meat with it to flavour it. Having left the expressway we started to climb into the foot hills of the Japanese Alps and the driver pulled the bus over to put snow chains onto the back wheels. In the middle of the complex there is a huge grassed area, covered in brown, frozen grass, and a very pretty, icy cold pond, containing 2 of the coldest looking ducks I've ever seen. They were floating around among the ice cubes. I'm assuming they were real. They looked real.
