      Snow Monkeys

A travel blog entry by mjhalls on Jan 07, 2015

... for bugs (I assume). There were heaps of baby monkeys on their mothers backs. I guess there were about 15 or so in the water and probably the same amount out of the water. Then a fellow came out and started throwing food for the monkeys from a bucket and suddenly all these monkeys came down from the mountain where, we realised, they had been relaxing in the sun. Now there was probably at least a 100 or so monkeys. We also saw another creature ...

      Rainy day

A travel blog entry by mjhalls on Jan 06, 2015

I am now realising what a perfect day of weather yesterday was as today is rainy and we are basically confined to the resort. Too miserable and dangerous for a pair of beginner skiers. As to me I had organised some snow shoes and was going to go up on the gondolier and go for a walk up the top as there is a circuit amongst the trees and also views done the skiing valley slopes. We walked up the street in the dark and the cold and the snowy sludge to a ...

This morning, once again, we woke up to a white snowy wonderland. We had a delicious Japanese breakfast of salmon, rice, miso soup, and a tofu, which filled prepped us for the day of snowboarding ahead. After breakfast, we got on the bus and headed to the slopes. We met up with our instructor for the day and headed off to the same beginner slope as yesterday. After a couple of runs on that slope, our instructor brought us onto ...

After a long nights rest, we woke up to a completely white winter wonderland. The amount of snowfall that collected through the night was insane and it still continued to snow. We were served a delicious breakfast of chicken quiche, potato rosti, fruit, bread rolls, salad, and some orange juice and tea. Afterwards we headed straight onto the shuttle bus back to the Gala Snow Resort. We arrived there in time for our lesson with an instructor from the Canyon school and ...
