    ... The Japanese are absolutely lovely, cannot say enough about how welcoming and helpful they are. We grazed on local specialties including our new addiction the Oyari bun and of course had to have chestnut ice cream though it was pretty mild in flavour.     ... but no show. A nice young Japanese guy asked us if we were okay, so Rod phoned the hotel and he spoke with them. Turns out it was a miscommunication and our pick up was 11:55 and not as soon as our train arrived. The young people are great at helping as they want to practice their English.     I rode from my friend's place in Shinagawa to the Tokyo train station this morning to very little traffic as it was a holiday Monday here.
