    ... local to snap a pic of us at the front by the pineapple people, and then got in line to pay for our tickets. UNFORTUNATELY, neither of us had learned from our Hapinaha mishap and we didn't bring yen... and the park did not accept credit cards.

    ... states as names so we left Schwab and pulled up to this innocuous looking building that was tucked away on a side street in the suburbs. The area was deserted. We walked into the restaurant and were greeted by a friendly Japanese husband and wife who were behind the bar. The interior was Texas steakhouse meets country pool hall chic; dark walls, very warm and inviting. We were the only customers so settled into the bar and ordered two of the Texas sirloin specials.

    ... of the most iconic spots in Okinawa, which happens to be less than 30 mins from our house. The UNESCO World Heritage Shurijo Castle. The castle is on a hilltop overlooking Naha, the biggest city in Okinawa and the main port and transportation hub. Therefore, visiting the castle also provides great views of the city below.

    ... and early(6:30 am). I drove up to a dive site called Mermaid's Grotto for a 2 tank shore dive with some military guys that I met on the "Okinawa Divers" facebook page. The reef had great color and biodiversity. Highlights included a big octopus, my first Okinawa turtle sighting, and a huge Trident's Trumpet shell (sorry Dad, I didn't collect it because that is illegal here..they are one of the few organisms that eat ...
