    As you can see, the lake is beautiful! And while it was a bit windy at the overlook, the water was very calm. Lake Towada is a volcanic crater lake created thousands of years ago and still fed by some thermal springs, but mostly filled by all the snow that falls in this area ...

    The Aomori area "Snow Road" (road 103) opened up on 31 Mar, so after my trip to Korea, I decided to take a trip up to the Hakkoda mountains today to drive the snow road and do some late season snowshoeing.
