I finally got a good nights sleep. I left a pile of garbage in the hotel room, because I had been packing all of it around. I repacked better too. I left the hotel at 8:45 am (five minutes early!). I drove to the Honda Collection Hall/Motegi Twin Ring again. I picked up the souvenir I wanted, and saw parts of the museum that I blazed through before. We therefore anticipate the visit to Shibazakura Festival, originally planned for tomorrow. It's a famous flower festival held in Motosu Lake over April and May,where moss phlox fully in bloom cover a vast area at the bottom of Mt Fuji. While waiting for the bus, we enter a souvenir shop: an old lady greets us and keeps speaking Japanese, even ...

... it seemed I was the only non Japanese participant, many surprised faces to see a fat western bloke on the beach at such an hour! On hauling the net ashore the catch is shared amongst everyone, some very strange looking fish destined for the breakfast table! After a day's wandering there really is nothing better than a soak in an Onsen, it's a very Japanese thing the whole onsen experience with more etiquette to follow, you shower before having a ...
