It is no secret that I love the Japanese but yesterday made me feel even more so. Day two in Japan was cold and wet and we were at a bit of a loss as to how to spend our day. I knew I wanted to go and eat at my favourite restaurant. It is a small family run tofu restaurant perched high on a hill side. The drive way up is an adventure in itself and as it was raining so hard, I was worried we may just ...

    Busy Day in Yamaguchi

Today we had gotten a great idea from Mizue about what to do during the hot afternoons. We went bowling! There was a bowing alley not far from our hotel so we ventured out at about 11am and headed for the bowling alley. First we stopped at a chinese food restaurant that was right next to the bowling alley. Everything looked so good that we ended up ordering way to much and left there very full. After that we had 3 rounds of ...

All the hotels we had stayed in so far had been very small. Basically a bed, tv and a washroom. After spending some time playing cards in ...

... glasses and a sake decanter and took a cab back to the hotel.
That evening we went out on Yudaonsen street after the sun went down to see if there was anything good to do. There is a cafe in Yuda that we used to go to during university and I wanted to take Lane there. We had tried to go the night before, but it was full. So we went out right after they opened at 5 and got a table. This cafe is kind of a bar. They have this special where you pay a certain amount of ...

    ... white fox statue.
I showed Lane the Ashiyu, which is a hot spring for feet, but it was way too hot outside to put our feet into. It is wonderful in the winter. What people normally do there is go to the 7 Eleven, buy some beer and then go to the Ashiyu and sit with your feet in the water, drink beer and talk.
Next we wondered around trying to find a place to have a drink, but it was so hot outside, and I couldn`t find a good bar to go to so we went to the convenience ...
