An early start, as we had an 8am train to catch to Nagoya. Our time in Takayama is over after three days and the sun is out for a second day. The forecast is 33C.
Our train trip was 2 1/2 hours and we only took an overnight bag with us as we are doing a one night stay. Our luggage has been forwarded by courier to our next hotel. This is a very common practice in Japan so our hotel arranged it all for us. Convenience stores also organise the process for ...

Other members of the family also arrived to see us off: Taadashi, Shunichi, Kiyoko, and Misako. The family bought tickets that allowed them to accompany us right to the train ...

She also served her home-made yogurt with fresh strawberries and kiwi fruit. Also fresh-brewed coffee. Afterwards, Kiyoko apologized because she had ...

... where we were to have our dinner. We arrived a little early so we shopped a bit at a local super market first. Then we went to the restaurant - a Korean BBQ (Yaki Niku) place. This was in honour of John's birthday. Again, another large meal with plenty of drink. The beers were included in the meals but Shigeyaka kept on ordering sake plus a variety of bar drinks as well for everyone to try. Needless to say, the mood at our table was a pretty happy one. We were all ...
