      Going to see the falls of Karuizawa with Eri-chan. Water falls like strings, so some people call them the noodles strings fall or something like that. After we go for lunch, Italian restaurant.       Today I headed off North to Nagano on a morning bullet train from Tokyo. I will be using Nagano as a base for visiting other locations over my 2 day stay here due to its ease of commuting back to Tokyo. My plan for this first day was to arrive in Nagano, drop my bags off at the station luggage lockers and then head on a bus out to Jigokudani wild snow monkey park.       ... photos without anyone else being there. The main sanctum was divided into the inner and the outer. The inner sanctum had tatami mats, which meant that you had to take your shoes off first. Since it closed at 4.30pm and we only had 15 minutes left, it wasn't worth going in. We could walk around the outer sanctum till about 6.30pm.

      ... walk through the winter walk where workers have to walk for 20km for 6 hours. There was a monkey sitting on the top of the stairs so it became a choice of whether we wanted a photo of the monkey or that of a train going over the red bridge. In the end, the train on the bridge won out.
