... a pond there but the boardwalk was not in as good a condition as the one outside. Maybe they should charge more than 300 yen to maintain the upkeep in the place. There were roots and rocks around. At one spot, I nearly fell as my left foot was stuck between roots but my right kept going.

By the end of the walk, the batteries in both cameras were depleted. The cold at the beginning probably didn't help. We were quite warm by the end and were ...

From the castle, we stopped by the gelato shop (or gerato shop, as the sign said). I had some green tea ice cream and Joseph settled for a toasted cheese sandwich and some sort of pudding. After that, we walked through Nawate St, ...

... broke and we could see the alps and Mt Tateyama surrounding us. It wasn't that cold, surprisingly. We then took a Tunnel Trolley bus across to the ropeway at Daikanbo. I had just bought my nice, hot sweet potato but on trying to take a photo of the arriving cable car, it fell out of its bag and went splat about 3m down. Oh well, at least I managed to eat half of it first. From there, it was another ropeway down to ...
