      ... playing a familiar tune, I look over and the head chef comes out and starts singing happy birthday with the harp player THEN all the other people staying and working at the hotel joined in all singing happy birthday to me. They then presented me with a hand made ornament and wished me another happy birthday. I got up and bowed to all the staff thanking all of them.       Well it's Australia Day today as we begin our journey home via a couple of days thawing out in Kuala Lumpur. We have had another amazing time in Japan with 12 snowboarding days all up and several sightseeing days at the beginning of it. We enjoyed some great powder days with two major dumps of snow at the beginning of our stay at Nozawa and the beginning of our stay at Hakuba.       ... could go. Then by a combination of skinning and boot packing we arrived high up on a ridge. The area was quite busy with but by the time we were ready to ski down, we were the only ones there and the snow was untracked.
