we needed to go to as our tour-guide was simply almost non existent.
By now all the party was taking the mickey out of this virtually non
existent tour guide. We had quite a few nicknames for her but the most
appropriate one in my opinion was "The Ghost".
When we got off trains she would simply rush on ahead and leave the rest of
us standing looking around wondering where to go or what to do. She was totally

... beautiful town but the weather is quite warm today, 31 degrees, and the sun has quite a bite so we have now retuned to the hotel for a bit of a rest before our dinner tonight. Tonight we look forward to enjoying traditional Swiss cuisine and being entertained by yodellers and alp horn blowers, should be fun, however given the price of things here I doubt we will be partying on at the bar afterwards. A relaxing day it was! There is an art museum across the street from the hotel and we thought it would be a good idea to get a little culture while so close. The specialty of this museum is Pablo Picasso. I have seen a few of his prints but this place has the largest collection of his art anywhere. It was amassed by a father and daughter who were friends of Picasso. They were residents of Lucerne so after some consideration and arm twisting, they gave their collection to the ...
... was a futile effort. So it was on to the cable car for the long ride down. Once again Ollie sympathised with my fear of heights by jumping up and down inside the car. We made our way down and got off at the first stop, about half way down the mountain. They had the world's longest steel toboggan (a bit like a luge but for normal unco non-athletes). ... was kinda pretty. After a quick rest, we explored the city a bit and visited the tourist sights like the chapel bridge and the lion monument. We had dinner at Old Swiss House, famous for its Schnitzel but extremely pricy. There was a Christmas Market set up but unfortunately it closed at around 6 pm. There's a regulation in town ...
