    ... snow soon. Arrived Lucerne, Switzerland at 4.30pm. Saw the 'sad lion' a commemorative carving in rock for the 7000 Swiss guards who lost their lives trying to save France's Royal family. It's a beautiful carving. Lucerne is a beautiful city. Bob and I walked to the chapel bridge this afternoon. We will investigate the town more tomorrow and post photos of the town.     ... of you that don't know the monument was built between 1820-1821 to pay respect to the 800 or so swiss men who lost their lives defending and protecting King Louis XVI and his family during the French revolution.
