    ... doing it all wrong! (Needless to say we had to walk again!) So five minutes later i went back to reception to explain that I couldn't ride the bike! She very kindly gave me the deposit back but kept the 16 euros! I went back and told Ernie, I don't think I have ever seen him so mad...he marched off back up there and told them how angry he was that we had only tried the bikes and that they wanted to keep the hire price...she returned it! Anyway ...

    Today was a relaxing day, well for our muscles anyway. We stayed around the motorhome and tidied up. We had another bike ride for about 4km to a supermarket to stock up. After dinner we went for a 6km bike ride. The rain has followed us from England so we are staying in tonight and watching a video.

    We had intended to stay for five nights but only ended up staying three as the weather was poor. The next day it rained and we still needed rest after the long drive from Cologne so we stayed around the campsite that day.

    We took a bus into Brugge the next day as the weather was fine although cloudy. Joyce had been here some years before, spending a weekend with her cousin Liam. The town seems to have a church on every corner! It is only small and was packed ...
