    ... in a car was not ideal, one of the officers hopped out. Very dramatically, might I add, he started running and dropped his keys and phone out of his pocket and left the door open for the driving officer to try and scramble over the gear stick and passenger seat to close.     If only our friend on the phone from yesterday could have seen us last night. Arriving late into Milan, we found ourselves some back to back park benches in a triangular shaped park not far from the railway station. Salvaging some cardboard from a nearby fruit shop, we fashioned ourselves a thin mattress and slept under the stars, Wendy and I taking shifts to watch our packs as the kids slept.     ... local Cantinas and then enjoyed a long lunch sampling a few more. Our final evening was spent trying to cook our own Florentine T-bone on the bbq, a relative success but perhaps we should leave that one to the professionals. A short stop in Lucca enabled us to stretch our legs on our way to the Cinque Terre as we walked around the 4km city walls. A lovely lunch washed down with a final glass of Chianti Classico was a perfect end to our time in Tuscany, something tells me we'll come back ...

    The monastery is dedicated to the Madonna del Sasso, meaning rock, since it is situated high upon a rocky, wooded crag. The Monastery was consecrated in 1487, some years after a monk had been visited up here by the Virgin Mary.
