    ... again toward a pigeon loft. Wondering why there would be such a structure in this remote location, a google search explained that perhaps pigeons were brought here, tail feathers plucked to produce erratic flight , and then released for target practice by local marksmen. There were signs of some rebuilding of the tower but fortunately no marksmen were on site today!

    ... hours allowing for many breaks, photos and about an hour on the top enjoying the 360 deg views, tranquility, ravens, chocolate croissants, butterflies and even one hawk eagle.

    The trail is well marked and defined with some 'ledge walk' sections. A short side trip by Rob also uncovered some recent 'cave paintings'...potentially pagan sacrifice activity(recent) ...but ...

    ... about soon crossing the border, looking out for some sort of sign or marker that would indicate this rather banal yet still noteworthy achievement, I had to venture out briefly into the fast lane. A lorry was overtaking a lorry and having been quite happy with a more sedate drift down the slower lanes for the first time I edged out towards the central reservation, along way from the shoreline of the hard shoulder.     Did not like to mention my operation as my friend Pepas was much worse, thankfully we both survived and mending well. Though as She put in the stitches you can see I do not look pretty. As a treat for my suffering they abandoned the trekking and took me to see Cathy and Ian in Calpe then up to Jalon for Fish and Chips with Chris, how I enjoyed the company of near normal people and a few beers. No doubt back to insanity ...
