... we set out to see the sights. We visited a couple of churches today. The first being Kathedrale Basiliek St. Bavo. The second was Grote of St. Bavokerk. These were both magnificent structures. The immense size of these churches is overwhelming. The Grote of St. Bavokerk can be seen from our hotel window and besides the beauty, the sound of the carillon, a couple times an hour, followed by the chimes for the hour, is a wonderful sound.

... encountered. This guy is giving Joan Rivers a run for her money on his plastic surgery punch card. His entire face was done: cheek implants, chin implant, lip filler or implants (hard to tell which), and so much Botox that nothing moved except his jaw. Sort of like a marionette. On top of it all, he had bright blue eyes that were obviously brown at birth. So that was Rod.

We finally took off, a few minutes late and that didn't help my anxiety about my connection. ...

DAY 18 ..... Friday, June 6th ..... At Sea

DAY 19 ..... Saturday, June 7th ..... Amsterdam

It is never easy transiting from the slow pace of a cruise ship to the humdrum of life on land and especially when it involves the mayhem surrounding airline travel.

So with apprehension, we said goodbye to the Prinsendam, boarded the transfer bus and headed for Schiphol and our flight to Gatwick.

... Musesum. The plaza that it's in was absolutely gorgeous! Too bad it was raining. It was all so clean. Next stop was definitely the Heineken Tour! The only tour we actually booked in advance haha (book in advance so you avoid lines). This was probably the highlight of my day (well after the canal tour that is). We spent hours in there!
