... we set out to see the sights. We visited a couple of churches today. The first being Kathedrale Basiliek St. Bavo. The second was Grote of St. Bavokerk. These were both magnificent structures. The immense size of these churches is overwhelming. The Grote of St. Bavokerk can be seen from our hotel window and besides the beauty, the sound of the carillon, a couple times an hour, followed by the chimes for the hour, is a wonderful sound.

... of the beer was real interesting as well as the tour itself, we spent a solid 2 1/2 hours there and got some cool memorabilia. Next bike mission (good thing no DIC biking) was Vondelpark, the biggest park near Amsterdam city. It was so nice and so many people just relaxing or biking around, we biked the whole park and chilled in the sun for a bit. Today was long and long and hectic so I'm sorry if I don't remember all of it. We went out fairly late and got breakfast at this cheap restaurant we keep going to. I got a pancake which was good but not extremely filling. After that we went to the bike rental place down the road and Nim and Lia debated about getting a scooter for so long but eventually the owner talked them down to a tandem bike. ... of trying something new, to my not-so-pleased look after the onion and raw fish hit my taste buds. No worries, we got our Starbucks fix a few minutes later! (There's no Starbucks in Nancy, and every so often we just wish we could indulge in things that remind us of home, know what I mean?)
