Not entirely shure, if I spend my last day in a foreign country, I head towards north. A stopover at Novi Ligure provides me finally the opportunity to send a notification to all family and friends about my remaining itinerary before return back home. The date has been fixed to the 29.
The ride up to Vercelly in the low lands was not that exciting like the sighting of the mountain of Mont Blanc in the far. Since my ...
I am only stayin the night just to see the Matterhorn. The sun is out and I took a hike up nearby hill. It was about an hour and a half uphill walk with regular short stops to catch my breath. I think I have had enough of hiking now, I did 4 hours of it at Montreux as well, I must have the best **** at the moment. Spectacular view of the mountain at the hilltop though. It's less of a mountain and more of a giant pinnacle of rock. It looks menacing, to prove it there is a nearby graveyard full ...
Zermatt, Swiss Alps, Switzerland tonkin... So I was keeping an eye open for a policeman, and spotted a whole police station( or should I say Carabinieri)!! There must be one in there, we thought. And it's definitely worth stopping. We got a place to park (probably not very legal, but we were following the Italian rules of the road by now), grabbed our Landy Rally T shirts, and went on the hunt for points. It lookead bit locked up, but as we poked around the gate, a couple of people came ...
Aosta, Aosta Valley, Italy dirtyweekenders... but our legs struggled to keep us upright on the steep slope. I know uphill is harder but my legs were shaking 10 minutes in!
At the bottom we saw that there were two signs pointing to the spot we needed to be, obviously one was right and one was wrong! The right one had a very level path that we welcomed with relief!
We walked for about 2 hours before lunch, viewing the Matterhorn from different angles and stopping at lakes and streams to fill our water ...
... took Evie back up via the Tram to the top of the Klein Matterhorn just before the last ride at 4:30p. Along the way, they watched a parade of swiss dancers with typical accordian players as they paraded down main street as part of an annual traditional festival.
... cable car, you go straight up to the top of the Klein Matterhorn---it’s quite a ride.
Geneva, is bland and now we know why Rick Steves says you should skip it. We have been use to quiet and this city is dirty and bustling with noise. The good thing is our hotel is next to the train station. Although it is old, it is clean and comfortable. There is no AC though, so we hope we can sleep tonight with the window open. I’m ...
... that had spent the day with her best friend. And then Mum, Cilla and I went shopping for souvenirs. Tonight we had a lovely evening in. and now we are all packing for tomorrows train to Mandello Del Lario. Liz and Rod will be married in 2 days... We are all excited about that. Bedtime now. I don't know what the Internet situation is in Mandello del Lario but I will post wedding pics ASAP.
Zermatt, Swiss Alps, Switzerland coralv... under my belt, i was glad to leave the place behind me, and hit the ice. on our way to the first glacier we saw a rescue helicopter pull some guys up in the distance that must have gotten lost the night before and had to stay out...the hut didnt seem all that bad anymore, especially remembering the freezing cold rain that lashed down the previous night. The first part of the day didnt hold much better weather and we trecked through a ...
Zermatt, Switzerland janos... listened to Jeff Buckley's CDs, played in the grass when the weather was good, trusted one another, and smiled at everyone. I also had some good times while selling my stories. Every day, I would stop in at least one store and have a long friendly discussion with the person I'd just met. But, make no mistake about it, I was happy to leave Greece. The country's long history has been based on three strong principles: democracy, (Greek ...
