Gilli, San Marco and Santa Croce

... last shop we tried, we did find the proprietor hard and work painting his wares and enthusiastically telling me, mostly in Italian, about his craft and that his son does ceramics, too. I love the Italian way of being artsy and the custom of working in the shop where they sell their art. Love it! Next, it was Santa Croce and a peek into La Scuola di Cuoio. When we got back to the appartamento, we made pasta with Jeanne. That was too much fun and surprisingly easy to get ...

Day 267 2 hrs, 2 kms I will admit this stretch of hiking doesn't look like it will be winning any awards. This isn't the part of Tuscany pictured in the brochures. Flat. Stale architecture with an uninspiring mix of residential, industrial and agriculture... Chiesa Uzzinese does have a street market going on which pretty much fills up the town, nice break in ...

... s unfinished Slaves and the three persons tall David. Could not take pictures unfortunately. Wandered towards the south bank for the recommended dinner places. Via the Duomo and the Piazza delle Signore and crossing at the Ponte Vecchio, we discovered that our two recommended places did not open early enough. Ended at Osteria de Santo Spirito. Great bread, pasta and florentine ...
