... Bridge, which crosses the river, dates from 1387 (and no, that's not a typo!). It's narrow enough that there has to be a set of traffic lights on either side so that traffic takes it in turn to cross... On the other side of the bridge is the suburb of Handbridge, which is home to the Shrine of Minerva. Carved by the Romans into the side of a sandstone quarry, it survives to this day, though it's not in the best condition... Once I get home I'll have to ...

Day 6 - Chester Zoo

... jaguars, a trio of cheetahs and a rather large lion or two.

One downside to going in winter is that a lot of the cafes and such are closed, but I was able to get a drink and a muffin at the restaurant, which was a nice break from walking around.

I'll write more about the animals in their photo descriptions (which I'm not sure transfer to Facebook properly, so you might have to come to the blog itself to see them!)

... and find coffee while Andrew contemplates the predicament he is in. When I return he has some how turned the car around and now we are ready to back track. Miss Daisy the GPS is programmed to get us out but she takes us across country through the B roads with hedges 2 meters high and into the bargain through a watercourse in the Benz. Out of the hedges appears the freeway! Thank heavens for that.

... the "necessities" whilst normally I would use ship shampoo etc for this long I want my own, and of course what if you so another long list is started and lots of trips to the chemist for cough cures, antihistamine, antiseptic, sun screen etc etc. So all the gear assembled what cases to take, we are told by others who have been onboard previously that there is no storage room on QV so nesting cases and two canvas folding cases. ... field's not that bad, we have been on far worse! There isn't enough room between us and the one other caravan on the field to pitch our awning so we attempt to squeeze all our stuff into the trailer. It won't fit so we take a leaf put of our friend Bendy's book and make do with Hotel Nissan for extra storage space. On the upside there is a lovely little duck pond and lots of seating. I am sure it will be lovely if ever it stops raining. ...
