... century English paintings, and some amazing Wedgwood and Chinese ceramics, we had a look at the church and a walk through the gardens, the roses still blooming - and even scented! And then of course a sit down and drink at the pub. We still had time for a last walk along the cycle track, and a last delicious dinner with Omnia. And even caught a new New Tricks episode!! Now off to bed and ready for new adventure ...

But, we arrived in Oxfordshire – thanks again to Sally & Stef for letting us stay at their place whilst they were on holidays. I had no concept of what to expect in Liverpool . Thought it would look industrial. However, I was pleasantly surprised . I found it a lovely vibrant city. Clean. Friendly. Great atmosphere. I was immediately caught up in the magic of "The Beatles"... All over again!! In fact, we all were & the smiles lever left our faces the whole time we were there.

From Chester, we headed to York changing trains in Manchester. The train was quite busy and slow, stopping at many stations along the way picking up rush hour commuters. We arrived in York around 7.15 pm. We got a brief glimpse of the medieval wall that surrounds the old city. We caught a taxi to our Hotel which was just outside of the main centre.
