... in bruges has reminded me of how much I like visiting small towns in europe after being in paris. A lot of people come to europe and make the mistake of only going to the huge cities but never come to places like bath, rouen, or bruges. There's more charm, more local culture, people are much more open and friendly, and everything is in walking distance. You get a real feel for the country and it's people, which isn't always there in larger cities. Going ...

But I was feeling fine, and when I passed a window selling waffles and a saw a boy eating one, I couldn’t resist. At that point Paula and Bernie came by, and we all went in together. We lassoed a young man going in and out to help Bernie move the scooter inside, because of course there were steps.

We had waffles and coffee (me) and ...

... places to try the same beer. After all, with all the canals, bridges and old buildings and such, well, it’s pretty much a ******* fairy tale. Oh and by the way, it’s in Belgium. Yeah, I know, we thought that was weird, too.

Our version of some of the film's best scenes:

Climbing the Belfort

366 narrow, claustrophobic steps to the top winding past old bells (the ringing kind, not the sipping iced tea and entertaining gentleman callers ...
