Crete - never been here before. So it was with much anticipation that we set off on our tour. Not as charming as Santorini, parts of it a bit like a non graffitied, tidier version of Athens - not bad but not really amazing either. ... PM, cutting it too close for me to comfortably souvenir shop and mail stuff out. So at about 6:30 AM I booked it to Heraklion. My schedule is to stop on Santorini for a couple of hours--just to say I did, and because everyone will ask me if I did--then make the hop to Naxos, putting me "home" sometime this evening. That'll give me plenty of time tomorrow to souvenir shop and deliver authentic Naxian goods to America.

I simply cannot speak 'triangle', that is, while some letters are the same as in our alphabet, there are some tricky symbols which mean absolutely nothing to me - and I can't even try to sound them out.)
