    I need to mark Basel on the map & would also like to say to anyone reading this that might be planning a trip to the area, we stayed at The Passage hotel - it was EXCELLENT ! and I would highly recommend it; awesome shower, big rooms, comfy bed, mini fridge (if you can afford that sort of thing), a fantastic gym downstairs, and just a hop, skip, and jump away from anything and everything you could possibly want. ...

    Goodbye to our Blackforest accommodation, the Silberdistel. We drove from Hinterzarten to Hirschsprung to Freiburg. We parked in the suburbs of Freiburg and took the tram into the Alt Stadt.     ... filled the square. Of particular note was the amount of white asparagus that was for sale; it is the season. Baskets of strawberries were also everywhere. And do not forget the stall selling pretzels of all types-plain and stuffed with cheese or meats. We were almost sorry we had eaten breakfast at the hotel!
