Tomorrow we move on to Parma (famous for its cheese) by way of a four hour taxi, bus and train trip. The actual travel time is much less than this, but of course you have to allow for connections etc. Meanwhile, enjoy the blog and the photos ...

Well, Joy rounded the corner of the doorway and started reading the exhibition screens showing the English translation to the Italian notes, which were all about this painting which had been discovered and which was now attributed to Leonardo, how it was found and what all the story was, who the portrait was about etc ..... La bella principessa, a portrait of Bianca Sforza who died aged 14/15. ...

Speaking of which, that will be our last chance to visit the town's National Gallery, which has been closed for the holiday so far. Hopefully it will be open tomorrow, as it has several paintings by Joys boyfriends and it is in the beautiful and historic Ducal ...
