Today was a bit of a test run for doing our walks and hikes through the cities of europe we will visit in the next couple of weeks. Today we were going to find out way through the old city, through the central squares and then up through the covered arches all the way to the Basilica San Lucca. We probably did close to 9 ks today. Of course we had stops along the way at the odd cafe and pizza restaurant ...

Lunch out at La Forchetta - just below our room window! Highlight was the Aubergine parmagiana with smoked cheese. Beautiful old town... Now enjoying the local produce at home with a bottle of ...

Next the Museo Civico Archaeologico (Archaeological Museum) Has a huge collection of Prehistory, Etruscan, Roman, Egyptian & Greek artefacts. Yes Mr Alison you would have loved it! Quite an overwhelming collection & far ...

... at 1700 and checked into our 15th century very authentic Italian villa. Dinner was at ristorante angiol d'or right near the villa. We all ate traditional beef fillet steak rolled with Parma ham and Parmesan cheese! Late night for Sienna - we will get back into a routine soon. Still trying to figure out if I'm in the home of Parma cheese as well as Parma ham... Need to do some more ...
