We left Paestum on Friday morning during a rain storm. We drove for about 4 hours, mostly down a road that runs along the coast. Each time we would go into a little village, the road would get narrow and we would have to be careful passing parked cars. Roman mosaics and a quaint medieval fishing town
... Relatively no tourists, we witnessed the town going about daily life. As the name suggests the town is dominated by a large castle built in the 1300s. After visiting the castle we had drinks at the local bar and then purchased some Sicilian treats from a renowned pasticceria. We have included a photo to make you jealous. They were as good as they looked. Tomorrow we head off by train to the capital Palermo.

... It was beautifully prepared with the freshest ingredients he could get. Wow, what a night. Meanwhile, Petra the puppy was terrorizing the older dog as she wanted to play. She almost knocked me over as she wet for my shoe laces to chew on. Cutest dog, but of energy. Bedtime came way too late. Back in Cefalù
... Taxis are doing great business. We end up getting a lift back all the way from Cefalù as the train remains static.
1/10/12 After yesterday's drama with the train, we choose to stay closer to base and wander up the road past the fields of brassicas. Farmers are spraying.
