... the ship. Our allocated seats were in a good spot with a window view. Just as well too, as it could be a bit claustrophobic in the lower levels.

The boat was pretty big with a couple of restaurants, bars, etc. Italy was playing Cost Rica and on the screens around the ship. There was quite a few Italians all watching and getting pretty frustrated as Italy were loosing.

By about 8:30pm every one was settled in to there seats and the boat left.....

Ferry to Ancona

We caught a ferry with our car from Split to Ancona, at 8pm. The ferry took 10.5hours. We had our own cabins with beds and a shower. There were restaurants and cafes on the ferry and we watched the World Cup. We arrived in Ancona, a city in Central Italy at 7.30am.

... We turned off the main road and followed Serena up and up it got higher and bumpier. At last we were nearly there but the hill got so steep that I couldn't go up so we had some fun rolling back down and having a real run up. It took a few attempts but we got there. We turned into a gateway. In front of us was a beautiful pale coloured brick villa with a pool and stunning views all the way round. It had been worth the climb.
