Jose I arrived in San Jose, all I wanted to do was sleep after two days of buses. And so that is what I did, with the exception of a quick trio to the supermarket, which might have been my most expensive shop yet. The next day, I eagerly awaited the arrival of two friends from the UK. I had a few hours to narrow down my big plan for our Costa Rica tour and it turned out that pretty much everything could be organised on the road.

Goodnights rest did me well from all the traveling and gym. Walked across the street to the Key largo and ate a custom breakfast of 10 eggs, 2 pancakes, one slice of toast and good old OJ. The guy looked at me funny at first then when I cleaned my plate he said " BUENO BUENO".

... patio. We asked the doormen at Castro’s Bar if there was open space and an entrance fee. They confirmed that we were welcome to join, the cost was $6 and they were serving food. Rufio, more interested in food than festivities, decided we should at least have dinner then gauge whether we wanted to stay for the evening.

... started at the wrong park so we ended up doing two hikes instead of one. Finally on the right path we got going on a two and a half hour muddy, uphill hike to the top of an extinct volcano. The reward was to be a green lagoon at the top. Much effort and these two and a half hours later we found a swampy green lagoon with lots of biting insects. Needless to say we didn't stay long.
