Rome in "Ruins"
... Today,I am going to have a last look around,nothing too strenuous as we leave for Dubai later on today/this evening,then on to Cairns Sunday.
Wanda has already gone from the Hotel this morning,I think she is hoping of filling up the Memory Card on her camera,I cant believe she hasnt already,maybe there has been some "intervention"..........???
I think she will also need some intervention when she comes to packing,as we all know 4 doesnt go into ...
Vatican city and a short time in Rome.
Today was going to be a big day of exploring
the city and the plan was to get a bus to take us to the station,
catch a train into Rome, then metro to the Colosseum, explore this
area, head to the Vatican, do the tour, have a bit of free time, then
head back to the Campsite. That was the plan, but like yesterday,
Rome likes to change people's plans.
I woke up at 7am, got ready for the day, then I
took a bag of laundry up to the camp laundry place ...

seaside hotel at Santa Marinella.This little seaside village is a beauty that reminds me of
La Jolla, Ca. I highly recommend this hotel (Le Najadi) and Santa Marinella is a
straight shot (30 minutes) to Fumincio (Da Vinci) airport. We return to Colorado

Nearly Overwhelming, but Completely Amazing
... and the Duomo. At this point it was dinner time, so we all walked over and grabbed some local pizza. Naturally this delicious meal was followed up by gelato. Laurel had 5 scoops there, and is now at 28 scoops. Of course she is in the lead in our tour group's contest.
