We have struck gold again as tonight is the annual Snail food festival - just how lucky can one be! More on that later. We'd stayed outside of the park at a bigger town called Levanto and caught the quick train in each day. The two trails that are open are hard going, with lots of steps, uneven ground and no handrails. Not that many tourists actually do the walk, opting instead to get to each village either by trains which run frequently or by ferry boat. ...
... was spent going back and forth across the river trying to find the Torre Pendante. I've seen enough of Pisa to last a lifetime. It was wonderful to go through the Duomo and Baptistry without rushing to keep up with a tour group. We saw so much more this time. They quite happily walked around the camp in them, and sat at the resturant in them. Tried to have a nap on the beach but it was such craziness that didnt happen!
