    ... had this back home!

After Ravello we took a bus back down to Amalfi and wandered around the bay area and duomo (cathedral). You can see the interesting Arabic influence on this cathedral in the picture. Very different from most you see in Europe. I'm sure there was plenty more to see of Amalfi but it wasn't that significantly different than Positano so we didn't feel like we were missing much by moving on. Plus, we needed ...

We all had the farmhouse soup made from their own garden produce, then I had grilled fish, Carolyn had duck ravioli and Jeannie had crepes. We had a lovely meal and were treated like royalty by the family and delivered home to Positano in a relatives ...

... We picked up a loaf of pane (bread), ouva (eggs), burro (butter), and pancetta (bacon). When the bacon was ordered, the grocer asked how much we wanted. That’s when the difficulty started. I finally chimed in 2 pounds, and I even indicated with my fingers to clarify the amount. We headed home with our purchase and felt pretty good that Chuck was able to order our supplies in Italian. When we reached the apartment we had one large slab of bacon 2 inches ...

As on every cruise, Mariner staff hosted a sail away party on swimming pool deck starting at 5pm, just as we waved good-bye to Civitavecchia. If weather permits, sail away parties are always well attended, it's the first time people from all over the world get a good look at each other. Most people have worked extremely hard to arrive at the ship on time, an amazing accomplishment when you consider the hundreds of hotels, airlines ...
