Today we went to Praia A Mare. It's roughly a 2 hour drive from Fagnano Castello up the coast.
We hire beach umbrellas and beach chairs till early afternoon and relax and swim in the beautiful ocean. Praia A Mare also has a blue grotto where you can either take a tour for €5 per person or hire paddle boats like we did for €12 per person and oddly yourself there and jump in for a swim.

That is what I feel like this year. Every start is up up and up again and within 10 mins we are back to being the 3 drips is so hot and humid! Today's start was a bit different. He organised for ...

Who knows where and how we went wrong but ended up through olive groves on very faint overgrown track climbing through brambles ( just a few scratches here and there) obviously on private land - lots of spider webs but I fixed that...Vicki loves to go first! At least we saw the ...

We left Stresa on Lake Maggiore in Lombardy at 8.30 am to go to Venice. On the way we stopped at Sirmione on Lake Garda.

The coach had to park outside the town and we walked in. Antonia asked if any of us wanted to go on a speed boat trip around the island so we put up our hands for that. Was a great experience and we saw the Roman ruins and the castle from the sea. He took us along the moat at the end and under the drawbridge ...

... my quiet reflection moments in Borneo when I was 17. It was the first time I'd ever travelled overseas, and honestly I didn't really want to go. The Borneo jungle and scenery was so foreign, and the climate so muggy. The smell of sewerage, the foreign food, the different language, culture, people. The fact that I stood out, all white and rich and sweaty. The sinking feeling when I realised that I would never ever fit in. Travelling to Borneo was an unexpectedly challenging ...
