Today was a traveling day. We left Saas Grund and headed
East via Italy to Locarno. The drive took us through some amazing mountain
passes including Simplonpass, the Gondoschlucht, Val Divedro and Val Vigezzo
which is also known as the Vally of a Thousand Valleys. The scenery ...

Well, our week in Milano has come to an end! We had a great time. Toured a few sights. Had a great weekend. Enjoyed the F1 race at Monza. Our accommodation was very close to the Milano Centrale Stn so, we opted to pull our luggage to the station. Didn't see too many taxi's to flag down and probably would've taken longer to attract one then to just walk the few blocks. The Centale station is large but over the week, we've gotten to know it very well! Arriving here from the airport ...

With his caffeine level restored we set off to see the National Science Museum. Proper name - wait for it: Museo Nazionale Scienza E Tecnologia Leonardo Da Vinci - got that!. They have an impressive display of models created from Da Vinci's drawings. Had a quick look of at part of the technology museum but the place is vast & you ...

... s seemed to be following us & started to park up in front.

Tremezzo is great spot with a road & promenade wrapping around the lakeside. Next the main reason for visiting Tremezzo the Villa Carlotta. This is one of the few you can see inside not just the gardens. Originally a wedding gift for a Princess Carlotta. It is rated pretty highly on Trip Advisor & easy to see why. The Villa itself is lovely ...

... nearer. The highest peaks had snow on them. Here we were looking at snow capped mountains in 25 degree sunshine.
The first view of Lake Maggiore was through the windows of the coach and was just incredible. Crystal blue waters surrounded by mountains with little pockets of villages and civilisation.
We spent an hour or so wandering around the small town of Stresa located right on the shore of Lake Maggiore. The first thing ...
