    ... dance, and a team of musicians and dancers give demonstrations a few times a day.

    We skipped the museum but went to see the show. It was light on the actual dancing – there was a presenter who spent a lot of time explaining each individual element – but still fun. The dance is accompanied by a simple repetitive piece of music played on shamisen, flute, drums and a small cymbal, which can be sped up or slowed down.

    A strange day to do a walk for no reason. Cloudy with the sun threatening to burst through I started on the first five temples of the famous 88 temple walk. Serene and well trodden there is a ritual to be found in walking. A clarity of mind which is fostered in tradition here in Shikoku. You look lost, help is thrust upon you.     In the meantime, there was much exploring of the soy sodden surroundings to be done. The buildings and trees all about the soy sauce factories truly were blackened by the sauce; the air smelled salty and delicious.

    ... had soba and grilled river trout and was treated to cookies by the super nice staff while I waited for the bus back to Oboke. Then There was a boat ride and a mega walk up a hill with creepy ghost statues, chatty oba sans that gave me candy and I even saw a tanuki! Then onsen at the hotel and back for a giant vegan dinner. Now that I am just getting my bearings and remembering more Japanese it is time to go. ...
