    ... right?

As we finished going round the fifth temple, Jizo-ji, it started to rain. Fortunately the bus stop wasn't far and we got there 10 minutes before the '1-an-hour' bus!

We got back to our guest-house (the one that the Chinese lady in Takamatsu helped us book) to find the kind-but-firm old lady that runs it and her assistant had taken our bags up to our room for us. We always feel bad when other people go to lift our ...

The path I took wound through the countryside, took you through small towns, alongside orange groves and along a lot of roads. This walk would be more fun with more countryside, but this is a crowded place. People are friendly on the route and can be identified by their white tops and walking sticks with bells on. From Koya-San we made our way to Shikoku island by ferry, where we headed to Kotahira. En route we stopped off at naruto to marvel at their whirlpools (or massive eddys) and takamatsu to wander about ritsurin park.

Naruto is apparently famed for its "whirlpools" which occur twice a day when the currents change direction. In the park, there is a walkway underneath a huge bridge with glass bottomed sections where you can look at the sea below you. Given some of ...

... to temple 12 so it would be my shelter for the night instead of the tent. And mr mountain hiker bid his farewell. I spent the night in the hut with another henro and also two men that provided food and drink o-settai. And when I say provided I mean forcibly making you eat and drink more than you could ever handle. The two men decided to stay the night too. What a team they were. Elderly Japanese versions of Jay and Silent Bob. They really were. Anyone who doesn't know Jay and ...
