... on the tourist leaflets, we were slightly underwhelmed by the whirlpools when we got there! We had thought that there would be 2 really big, deep whirlpools under the bridge, however it is actually more like lots of little whirlpools which all twist and turn into one another. Another early start and we bid farewell to Hiroshima and hit the expressway to Shodoshima. The island of Shodoshima lies in the Seto Inland Sea and belongs to Shikoku Island and to reach it we had to ferry the car across the sea form the mainland (Honshu).
