The Iya valley is sold in the guidebooks as undiscovered hidden Back to nature Japan. So I was ready for a rushing river and long hikes. And then there is the famous vine bridge crossing the Iya river, a feat of old timey engineering. ... As we were running out of time before the park was due to close we practically ran around the park and managed to do most of the 1hr & 40 minute walk in 30 minutes, whilst also carrying 15kg each!!
Naruto was ok if you're passing through it but we wouldn't recommend just heading there, so maybe a thumbs down. However, ritsurin park was beautiful and we would have liked to spend longer there so probably a thumbs up.

... images with the blog is through little miss iPhone. But I find the photos too dull since she is a bit old and tired, even after tweaks in in-phone-Photoshop the quality still sucks a bit. So I'm using a stitch app to get larger panoramic images. A little more interesting to look at. Funny angles n stuff. But sometimes they end up a bit weird in the stitching. But that I can live with. However I have no idea how they look on a big screen. On my phone they are ace. Just so you know.. ...
